| Smoky Mountain events happen all year round. Whether it’s Winterfest, or Springfest, (early May and June) in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville, the Smokies are where things happen every season. Winterfest employs hundreds and thousands of lights to ward off the early darkness and welcome the holidays. The cities are ablaze with colorful lights while trolleys carry travelers to avoid the winter chill. Special shows and displays fill the calendar throughout the duration of Winterfest.
Springfest is a region-wide celebration of spring featuring craft shows, flower shows, and other special events. The Smoky Mountains burst with life in the early spring, and many festivities are planned around this beautiful season. The spring Wildflower Pilgrimage is a popular week long event designed around the abundant wildflowers of the area and featuring over 170 different programs from lectures to overnight hikes. People come from all over the country to attend the Wildflower Pilgrimage. Associated activities are led by botanists, professors and other trained professionals, making each program an informative and fun experience. Harvest Festival is a fall celebration accenting the beautiful foliage of the area. Millions of people come each fall to the Smokies to see the colors of the changing leaves. Lodging specials and guided hikes are just a few of the perks of Harvestfest. Other Smoky Mountain events include the Scottish Festival and Highland Games, Ribfest, the Fine Arts Festival and many other cultural and seasonal celebrations.
